Warmth! The whole thing about super8 is its Warmth. Not just the colours of K40 but the feel of a good super8 camera in you hand, the sound it makes when you pull the trigger, the little yellow envelope you post to Kodak that lands back on your door mat two weeks later. The hum of the projector and the satisfaction of a good splice. These are the reasons why I worship at the alter of small guage film.

Thank you for your militant stance.
This posting is not a pejorative. I have not seen people who shoot in 16 mm be this devoted to their format.
Super 8 truly seems to be a phenomenon </font></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></BLOCKQUOTE>
16mm is only bread and butter.
Super8 is pure art (at least the challenge to make it look like 16mm) to overdo it a tad, although PRO8mm claim the can do exactly that.
Should I have printed that or did it become another H.O.T. job?

I have complete records of every single Super 8 thing I have ever bought. Last check I was around $10,500 put into this format not including film. I've only owned 75 different cameras

Bossjock,
I understand your post was not in anyway depreciatory towards super8, seeing as most people usually ignore my posts I just though playing with the whole cult and burning thing would be a laugh.
I shoot it because its more practical and "hands on". I like things where I feel im actually doing something and results are always 10 times more satifying then something from a video camera.
Yes it is an expensive hobby even if you just buy film like me and shoot film of your freinds and family etc, but then again a lot of hobbies are expensive.

It's amazing to me when people put down my filmmaking or photography, when they think nothing about owning there RV's, hot air balloons ....Vila's in another part of the country etc.

Konton, it was the Bell and Howell MS45, available with a choice of 2 add on electronic modules..I bought the more expensive module, which coupled with the camera, cost about 800.00...the module was cutting edge technology at the time, and allows the camera to do alot of advanced features, like manual exposure and sound control, in camera lap dissolves, fade in/out, time lapse and frame by frame features, ability to film at 24/18/9 frames a second, instant slo mo, hi/lo tone sound adjustment, 10 or 20 second time delay, and a switchable cue light. The lens is a f 1.2 power zoom lens with macro, has depth of field adjustment, and even a viewfinder that you can switch closed, to prevent film fogging? It's a super cool camera that films beautiful images...I don't hear much about it on the forum, I only know of 2 other people here that have one.

I bought dv camera to make a movie. After i made three movies of video looks thru hard work and i deicded to test on S8mm that I bought Minolta XL401. I do not work hard as video and came out unbelieve. Compare to 3chip of dv because of colors and details also its' so warm looks that i just simple won prize for my 4th movies that run only 12 minutes. Why can not my three video win any prize?
